Project Summary:
The Increased Demand and Engagement for Accountability (IDEA) Activity aims to strengthen Sri Lanka’s civil
society sector, with an emphasis on working in all regions of Sri Lanka and supporting civil society organization
(CSO) participation in national and local governance processes.
Position Summary:
The Driver cum Logistic Assistant will be responsible for providing effective transport to and from the project
headquarters in Colombo, as well as different work sites for IDEA staff and he will provide logistical support to
Administrative Assistant. He will support IDEA’s implementation through effective communication and demonstrate
commitment and integrity. He will also support the Administrative Assistant in logistics. Based in Colombo, the
driver cum logistic assistant will report to the Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate IDEA’s staff transportation.
0 Ensure cleanliness of vehicle when in use or otherwise and verify that the vehicle is in good condition
before use.
Carry out periodic checks on vehicle to determine maintenance needs and report accordingly and on time.
Drive carefully and ensure safety of the passengers, other road users, and the assigned vehicle.
Keep vehicle mileage, fuel and service records up-to-date. Maintain vehicle log sheet regularly.
o Inform responsible staff and ensure insurance renewal is up-to=date.
Ensure all vehicle reports are done and are submitted on or before the scheduled date.
0 Assist in other duties in the office as assigned by the immediate supervisor when not undertaking transport
facilitation.
0 Provide logistical support to Administrative Assistant for day to day office activities as well as in arranging
trainings and logistical needs for workshops.
Qualifications:
0 GCE Ordinary Level.
0 Must have clean and valid driver’s license record.
Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience in short and long-distance routes.
Should be flexible and able to adapt to abrupt changes on short notice.
Should be quick to understand, keen on taking instructions, and able to work with minimum supervision.
Must be medically fit to operate a vehicle.
Demonstrated interpersonal communications skills.
Fluency in English and one national language required; proficiency in a second national language desired.
